Job Description

Our client is a national retail and distribution company seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Manager to lead their accounts receivable operations. With a strong focus on customer satisfaction and operational excellence, they have established a reputation as a top workplace and fastest growing company in the area! This position sits in the metro Nashville area, in a hybrid in-office work model and is budgeted for $100,000 – $115,000 base salary with bonus (commensurate with professional experience).

As our client's Accounts Receivable Manager , you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, timeliness and compliance of their accounts receivable processes. You will oversee a team of four Accounts Receivable Specialists, manage the full end-to-end collection process for their customers, implement and maintain efficient credit management practices and provide comprehensive financial reports to their leadership team. Your expertise and leadership will be instrumental in maximizing cash flow, minimizing bad debts and contributing to the overall financial health of our client's company.

Accounts Receivable Manager Responsibilities:
  • Lead all aspects of accounts receivable operations, including customer invoicing, credit management and collections
  • Supervise a team of four Accounts Receivable Specialists, providing mentorship, guidance and training to ensure their success
  • Implement and maintain efficient credit management practices to assess customer creditworthiness and minimize bad debt risk
  • Manage the full end-to-end collection process, including sending reminders, escalating overdue accounts and negotiating payment plans
  • Conduct thorough customer audits to ensure compliance with contractual terms and payment obligations
  • Prepare and present comprehensive accounts receivable reports to our client's leadership team, providing insights into collection trends, customer payment behavior and potential cash flow optimization opportunities
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends and best practices in accounts receivable management to enhance process efficiency and effectiveness
Accounts Receivable Manager Requirements:
  • 2+ years of progressive experience in accounts receivable management, with a proven track record of success in a complex and demanding environment
  • In-depth knowledge of accounts receivable principles, practices and procedures
  • Strong understanding of credit management principles and practices
  • Proficient in a reputable ERP system, such as SAP, Oracle or NetSuite
  • Robust analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve collection issues promptly and effectively
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with customers, colleagues and management at all levels
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team of accounts receivable specialists
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative, adaptability and a collaborative approach
