Job Description Summary
The Associate Design Strategist applies methods of design research and innovation to understand a variety of complex problem spaces and define opportunities for improvement. They will collaborate with other Nudge Unit, CHTI staff, and project partners to define opportunities for 'nudges' to improve health outcomes and patient and staff experience. This role will report to the Senior Design Strategist and support them in executing strategies for testing new solutions that increase the value and decrease the cost of care for patients and care providers.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing contextual design research strategies and executes research tasks for Nudge Unit projects.
  • Collect and interpret data to inform project direction and evaluate outcomes.
  • Assist in developing design prototypes and experiences to test assumptions.
  • Translates research findings into thoughtful insights and artifacts that help to define the project objectives and directions.
  • Develops communication materials that effectively convey project goals and findings.
  • Evaluates and communicates project progress and outcomes to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Works with other Nudge Unit staff and operational partners to take new interventions to scale.
  • Participates in initiatives with other Nudge Unit staff to improve the way we work and enable a culture of innovation across the organization.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support the unit and organization.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years professional or equivalent experience, demonstrating the ability to complete complex and thoughtful work
  • Background in health care a plus, whether as a clinician (RN, PT, SW, etc) or in health care management or innovation
  • Effective communication skills in various methods, verbal, written, and presentations
  • Accurate, thorough data collection and analysis


Preferred

  • Experience in human-centered design research and design-thinking
  • Information/graphic design skills
  • Rapid prototyping and experiment design

Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
