Summary:
We're looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Family Office Accountant to manage the day-to-day accounting operations for a multi-entity family office. This role involves overseeing financial activities for individuals, trusts, and foundations while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee financial and accounting functions for multiple investment portfolios, including trade processing and bookkeeping.
- Maintain books and records for various entities, ensuring accurate transaction processing.
- Lead the monthly close process and prepare financial statements as required.
- Research securities in the investment portfolio and address accounting-related matters.
- Ensure compliance with SEC regulations and prospectus restrictions.
- Collaborate with the tax department to support timely and accurate reporting.
- Act as the primary liaison with investment service providers to optimize financial processes.
- Develop and improve accounting workflows using technology platforms.
- Identify and escalate issues affecting accounting records and valuations, assisting with resolution.
- Handle special projects and assignments as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy standards, including HIPAA regulations.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Oversee and provide guidance to the Family Office Investment Staff Accountant.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA certification required.
- 5-7 years of experience in accounting, with a mix of public and operational roles.
- Experience with private equity, venture capital, or hedge fund investment accounting is a plus.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong decision-making and independent task management skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
