Job Description:
We are looking for a Commercial Auto Underwriter who will service an existing book of commercial auto accounts for our trucking book. The role will focus primarily on our larger relationships and on developing quality new business submissions from our growing independent agent network. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years' experience underwriting commercial trucking, preferably gained in a carrier environment, and will be comfortable building relationships directly with brokers and agents.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Review, evaluate, quote, and bind new business submissions and renewals.
* Proactively monitor accounts and take necessary actions to maximize profitability.
* Provide exceptional service to brokers, insureds, and business partners.
* Market to new and existing brokers to support AMIC's growth goals.
* Collaborate within Underwriting team and other departments to improve processes and workflows.
* Handle special projects as assigned.
Job Requirements
* Minimum 5 years of Commercial Auto experience required; experience with Trucking segments STRONGLY preferred.
* Knowledge of ISO Rating and Forms and Federal filings.
* Ability to regularly interact with AMIC senior management.
* Excellent analytical, written, verbal skills.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively through agency relationship development and management.
* Capable of prioritizing & managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to work autonomously and within a team.
* Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
* Strong interpersonal relations skills and the ability to build customer loyalty.
* Ability to problem solve and create productive outcomes in demanding situations.
* Four-year college degree and industry certifications or professional designations a plus.

Compensation flexible to recognize experience and ability.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
