Position Summary: The Grant Writer will be responsible for creating compelling grant applications, LOI’s and other proposals, tracking and reporting on progress toward programmatic outcomes and goals, conducting research and tracking the progress and outcomes that support all development-related communications. This individual must be adept at bringing a nuanced approach/ability to write and tell our national story, as well as writing to speak to our specific impact in the multiple regions we serve (eg Atlanta, Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago, etc), find joy in data-driven storytelling (both quantitatively and qualitatively), and excited about articulating Fresh Films’ impact to diverse audiences. As a storyteller for Fresh Films, the Grant Writer will stay abreast of racial equity/social justice/workforce development issues, and industry trends and develop deep familiarity with the creative workforce ecosystem nationally.
Responsibilities - Write, revise, and submit grant applications, letters of inquiry, and reports to current and prospective funders, ensuring alignment with funder guidelines.
- Manage the yearly calendar of grant applications and reporting deadlines using Monday.com and create monthly grant status reports.
- Engage in additional writing tasks, including solicitation materials, impact reports, newsletters, talking points, and opinion pieces.
- Research potential new grant opportunities using tools such as GrantStation, Foundation Directory Online (Candid), and other sources.
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications: - Minimum of 3+ years of experience in grant writing, with a track record of success in securing grants from institutional funders.
- Experience with government and private/public foundation grants and reporting is highly preferred.
- Superior writing, research, and editing skills, with the ability to convey compelling narratives and technical information.
- Experience in nonprofit digital media, racial equity, or arts education is a plus.
