Title DevOPS/Cloud Engineer - Senior

Duration 1st April 2025 - 31st March 2026 Might be extended.

Office location Toronto, ON

Note: This contract will require the consultant to work from the office location 3 days per week with the remaining 2 days being worked remotely.

Design, build and support cloud environments to create digital products

Monitor and assess the performance of applications in a cloud environment to ensure solutions are available

Create, test and implement safeguards to maintain data integrity and protect against unauthorized access

Description

Responsibilities:

• Design, build and support cloud environments using Infrastructure as Code and automation to create digital solutions
• Monitor and assess the performance of applications in a cloud environment to ensure solutions are available and performant

General Skills:

• Deep experience in one of the leading cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud, etc
• Experience in maintaining complex Windows and Linux cloud environments
• Experience setting up development environments and mechanism using tools such as Jenkins or similar tools
• Experience in scripting languages like Python, Bash, PHP, Java, JavaScript, Node, etc.
• Experience in build tools like Git, Ansible, Chef, Puppet etc. for continuous integration
• Knowledge of container-based virtualization technology like Docker
• Integration experience in building and using APIs
• Experience applying industry web, architectural and security standards and best practices
• Experience in mobile device management for various versions of cellular and tablets

Cloud Application Migration / On-boarding expertise and experience - 50%

Demonstrated experience:

building automation pipelines (DevOps)

developing cloud-based architecture - Azure preferred

writing scripts to build, deploy and secure cloud IaaS and PaaS infrastructure

with Azure Front Door, WAFs, Key Vaults or AWS / GCP equivalents

operationalizing clients' cloud services/ensuring applications and ensuring they are securely managed

promoting applications from Dev to UAT to Production via aforementioned automation pipelines

supporting applications in Production

Significant experience with:

• cloud portals (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google) and their security-related components
• PowerShell
• Infrastructure as Code
• automated deployment methodologies (e.g., Azure DevOps)

Cloud Service Operation Expertise and Experience - 50%

Demonstrated experience with :

• in maintaining complex Windows and Linux IaaS, PaaS and SaaS cloud environments
• working with Azure AD B2B (ad hoc invites, direct federation)
• working with Power BI
• cloud security best practices
• prioritizing and remediating cyber security vulnerabilities
• performance monitoring
• Desired State Configurations or AWS/GCP equivalent
• data encryption
• Operations Management Suite or AWS/GCP equivalent
• Security Centre or AWS/GCP equivalent, and
• backup and disaster recovery solutions

Nice to have

working with the public Sector GoCLOUD platform is preferred

MUST HAVES:

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code - writing scripts to build, deploy and secure cloud IaaS and PaaS infrastructure
• Experience building automation pipelines (DevOps)
• Experience Azure Front Door, WAFs, Key Vaults or AWS / GCP equivalents
