Job Description

If you’re ready for a challenging job that can be very rewarding (and even fun) for just the right person, then we may be looking for you. We are looking for a candidate who would like to be a Stagehand / Event Electrician.

We provide temporary electrical services for any type of event. This involves planning, preparation, loading, unloading, assembly, testing, maintenance and tear-down of large quantities of cable, panels, transformers, lighting and other equipment.

We work a varied and changing schedule, including days, nights, weekends and some long shifts. And many events happen on holidays. We work outdoors more than indoors, in any kind of weather. The work is very physical and the equipment can be heavy and is not always clean. We use ladders, boom lifts, forklifts, scissor lifts and drive large vehicles.

Duties and Activities include:

• Plan electrical distribution based on client needs and requests, available power sources, available equipment, and compliance with the National Electrical Code, Fire Marshal requirements, and venue rules.
• Make and communicate arrangements for equipment lists, logistics, crew, and vehicles. Coordinate with suppliers of generators, lifts, and other ancillary equipment and services.
• Prepare and load equipment at our facility and unload at each job site, reversing this process when the event concludes. Much of our time is spent in material handling. 
• Set up, connect and test the equipment on the job site. Maintain the equipment as needed. Customize our installations to meet customer needs.
• Ability and willingness to assist with other aspects of events of all types. We offer a strongly diversified amount of services- and look for candidates with a willingness to pitch in, in any capacity- as needed.

A successful applicant will have:

• The ability and aptitude to apprentice for an Oregon Journeyman Stage Electrical License.
• Applicants who already possess an electrical license or ETCP certification will be given very serious consideration for this position. 
• A valid driver's license and insurable driving record. Commercial license is a plus. Ability to safely tow and park generators and other trailered equipment. 
• Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to shelf, in and out of road cases, etc.
• Ability to read, write and speak fluent English. Spanish is a plus.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and basic computer skills, including clear email communication, and the ability to learn and proficiently use applications to track quotes, inventory, timekeeping and training.
• Ability to work on ladders and in personnel/scissor/boom lifts.
• Ability to effectively and efficiently supervise all types of crews.

• Attention to detail. A focus on accomplishing the work in a safe, efficient manner, adhering to the highest standards of workmanship. There is no margin for error when working with electricity.
• Willingness to learn. An open mind, a desire for more knowledge, skills and new challenges. As needed and available, training will be provided in all aspects of our work.
