BAE Systems is seeking a Field Service Engineer, Jr. with operation, maintenance, and Life-Cycle engineering expertise in a Lab environment working with computer systems and network equipment to be part of our technical team located at the Combat System Engineering Development Site (CSEDS), Moorestown, NJ. CSEDS provides live surface combat systems platform support for AEGIS Cruisers/Destroyers
/FFGs . Areas of support include management of Windows and Linux workstations and supporting systems including infrastructure in a rapidly changing RDT&E environment. Troubleshoot, preventative/corrective maintenance, installs, upgrades and maintain various GOTS/COTS systems and associated network equipment.
The selected candidate will:
Provide support for the installation, operation and maintenance of complex M&S computer systems within a technical systems environment used for testing and training for the NAVY combat systems to include AEGIS, SSDS, FFG and LCS. at CSEDS.
Successful Candidate responsibility for these systems will include, but is not limited to:
- Installing and testing software and middleware
- Configuring networks, network switches and interfaces
- Performing preventive and corrective maintenance
- Build, Load and/or Reconfigure systems
- Diagnose, troubleshoot and correct hardware, software, middleware and interface connectivity issues
- Install and Integrate new systems
- Provide regular and periodic reports covering capability, functionality and readiness
Required Education, Experience, & Skills Minimum education and years of related/relevant work experience required: High School/GED and at least 2 years relevant work experience or an associate’s degree with 1 year's relevant work experience.
Additional skills/experience required:
Working Knowledge of computer systems hardware.
Working technical knowledge of networking and PC systems, including Windows and Redhat Linux.
Work with help desk ticketing system for problem tracking and resolution
Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues in a complex network environment
Demonstrated experience and ability to define, articulate, and communicate equipment status and troubleshooting efforts effectively and recommend courses of action for resolution.
Demonstrated experience in the ability to coordinate, schedule and implement equipment upgrades.
Successful candidate must be willing and able to perform in a variety of 40 hour work-week configurations, including:
1. Monday-Friday (5 x 8): 1st Shift
2. Monday-Friday (5 x 8): 2nd Shift
3. Variable 4 x 10 shifts that may include weekends (4 days on/3 days off) and may be 1st or 2nd shift
4. Sliding (5 x 8) work weeks (Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday) and may be 1st or 2nd shift
**PLEASE NOTE - These work week configurations may be scheduled on a rotational basis
Security clearance requirement: Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required). Selected candidate will receive a contingent offer and start date will be delayed until at least an interim Secret clearance is granted.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Highly desired, but not required:
Network Certifications
Active DoD Secret security clearance
Certified as a Maintenance Person in accordance with PQS 301-304, reference NAVEDTRA 43241-K
Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $61820 - $105050
