Job Title: Generator Service Technician - Field

Location: Atlanta, GA

Pay: $30/hr. - $42/hr. + Commission (with potential for OT)

Shift: 1st Shift with Overtime Available

On-Call: Once every 7-10 weeks after completing training

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Generator Service Technician to join our field service team. This role involves troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing commercial and industrial generators on-site, performing routine maintenance, and providing exceptional customer service. You will operate and maintain service vehicles, manage on-truck parts inventory, and ensure all equipment is functioning efficiently.

Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair generators (8.5kW - 3500kW) across commercial and industrial sites.
• Perform both scheduled maintenance and emergency repair services.
• Provide repair recommendations to customers and ensure supporting systems (fuel, cooling, electrical) are checked and serviced.
• Operate load banks and record instrumentation during service operations.
• Stay current with product changes, specifications, and updates.
• Maintain and operate company service trucks, overseeing parts inventory on the truck.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience servicing generators, ideally with exposure to units 500kW and above.
• Working knowledge of electrical systems, transfer switches, diesel engines, and circuitry.
• Familiarity with data centers, substations, or similar environments is a plus.
• EGSA Certification preferred but not required.
• Strong computer and software skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Prior experience as a substation electrician or background with large utilities is a plus.

Additional Details:

• This position includes a flat fee for on-call weeks and overtime pay for callouts.
• Training on internal processes will be provided, with on-call assignments starting post-training.
