Job Summary ameriCARE Pittsburgh is seeking compassionate caregivers to assist a client with light housekeeping, cooking and meal prepping on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 2:00pm-5:00pm. This position provides services in the Canonsburg/McMurray area. Caregiver MUST have quality cooking and meal prepping skills. Role responsibilities:

• Assist clients with daily routines such as light exercise.
• Meal prep and companion care during a meal.
• Assist with personal care and hygiene for clients by attending to their basic needs.
• Remind clients to take prescribed medication, as needed.
• Help with mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks, shopping, etc.)
• Assist with daily household chores, like laundry and dishes.
• Be proactive in preventing harmful falls or other injuries by maintaining a clean environment, removing tripping hazards, helping our clients with mobility, and keeping the environment as safe as possible.
• Mental stimulation with conversation and reading
• Report any unusual incidents and act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergencies.
• Update care logs with mobile app.

Required Qualifications

• Reliable and dependable -- able to commit to clients, arrive on time, and proactively communicate any needs or issues
• Enjoy working in a one-on-one setting
• Access to smart phone and ability to navigate Home Care specific apps
• Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without accommodations.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for every shift**
• Consistently act in a compassionate and supportive manner
• Willingness to comply with health and safety standards.

Preferred Qualifications

• Available to work different shifts, including nights and/or weekends
• Prior experience in a service field such as education, healthcare, hospitality, or in-home care environment (minimum of 1 year)
