The Aspire Center’s J-Term Career Planning and Life After Carthage courses were nothing short of extraordinary this year.
Designed to empower students with the skills, competencies, and insights needed for life beyond the classroom, these courses blended professional development, personal growth, and real-world preparation into a dynamic and engaging experience.
We brought in a photographer to provide students with high-quality headshots. This simple yet powerful gesture helped students elevate their LinkedIn profiles and professional portfolios, ensuring they’re ready to make a strong impression on potential employers.
Educators Credit Union hosted a Reality Check event, a hands-on simulation that guided students through budgeting and managing life expenses after graduation. From balancing bills to planning for savings, this session equipped students with essential tools to navigate their financial futures confidently.
Mock Career Fair: Peter Akins, from Penske Truck Leasing, Bachelor’s Degree in management and marketing with a minor in chemistry, helped guide students in our Mock Career Fair, showing them the ropes of networking!
Deloitte Visit: Joelle Banta, graduate of our Bachelors in accounting program, presented on behalf of Deloitte sharing valuable insights into the world of accounting!
Recruiter Panel: Alexis Madison from GE HealthCare, graduate of our Bachelors of Arts, public relations, advertising, and communications program, shared valuable insights, tips, and real world advice for our students!
Entrepreneurship: Christy Schwan graduated from our MBA program, inspired students with her career journey, offering practical advice on building entrepreneurial success and navigating challenges.
The Aspire Center’s J-Term courses went beyond traditional career planning, blending professional development, personal exploration, and meaningful community engagement into an unforgettable experience. Students walked away with not only practical tools but also a deeper understanding of their values, purpose, and potential.
Thank you to everyone — our alumni, speakers, faculty and staff, recruiters, community partners, and students — who made this J-Term a resounding success. Here’s to the bright futures ahead for The Aspire students!
