Job Title: Medical TechnologistJob Description Join our dynamic laboratory team as a Medical Technologist, where you will play a crucial role in patient care by preparing and testing patient samples. Your expertise will ensure the accuracy and reliability of laboratory results using advanced techniques and equipment. Responsibilities + Prepare patient samples for testing and determine the acceptability of specimens and results. + Repeat specimen testing as necessary to ensure accuracy. + Perform Hematology, Chemistry, and Urinalysis testing. + Conduct laboratory tests and procedures using techniques such as ELISA, RNA extraction, and flow cytometry. + Execute a variety of manual, semi-automated, and automated Biochemical, Hematological, Microbiological, and/or Blood Bank analyses on varied patient specimens. + Maintain, calibrate, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation to ensure proper functionality. + Accurately prepare, label, and store reagents, standards, controls, and specimens for analysis. + Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care. + Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement activities. + Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary. + Recognize normal, abnormal, unusual, and critical results and take appropriate action as established by laboratory policy. + Verify accuracy of results and initiate corrective action when indicated. Essential Skills + Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology, or other related science. + Certified Medical Technologist (MT), Medical Lab Scientist (MLS), or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS). Certification must be from ASCP, NCA, AMT, or AAB. + Blood bank experience is required. + Experience working in a hospital or clinical laboratory. + Ability to interpret test results and apply them to patient care. + Proficiency in one of the following areas: hematology, clinical chemistry, coagulation, urinalysis, or microscopy. + Ability to work independently and within a team environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Certification in Medical Technology, Medical Lab Science, or Clinical Laboratory Science from recognized certifying bodies. Work Environment The role is based 100% onsite in a blood bank lab, located on the 6th floor. You will be part of a team environment, working the third shift from 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM, five days a week, with an every-other-weekend rotation. When scheduled to work weekends, weekdays off will be provided. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Miami, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $38.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
