About Deer Isle Stonington School: Deer Isle Stonington Elementary School (DISES) is a small, rural elementary school serving approximately 250 students from preschool through eighth grade. Located in Deer Isle, Maine, DISES is part of a beautiful coastal community just east of Penobscot Bay along the Eggemoggin Reach. Our school community is fortunate to enjoy the picturesque beaches, trails, and historical landmarks that surround us, enriching both our personal lives and educational environment.

Position Summary: The Middle School MTSS Educational Technician III will play a vital role in supporting the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) at Deer Isle Stonington School for students in grades 6-8. This position focuses on providing targeted academic and behavioral interventions, assisting with data collection and progress monitoring, and collaborating with staff to help all students achieve success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support implementation of MTSS frameworks by delivering targeted interventions in academics and behavior for middle school students
• Assist in screening, progress monitoring, and data collection to inform instructional decisions
• Work closely with teachers, counselors, and specialists to support individualized student needs
• Provide small group and one-on-one support to students requiring additional assistance
• Help maintain documentation of interventions, student progress, and communications with families
• Participate in team meetings related to MTSS and student support services
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student growth and engagement

Qualifications:

• Experience working with middle school students in an educational or intervention role preferred
• Knowledge of MTSS, Response to Intervention (RTI), or similar frameworks is a strong asset
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for accurate data tracking
• Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and students
• Commitment to supporting diverse learners and promoting equity in education
