Nurse Manager, Mother-Baby Care Unit | Women's Health Leadership

Position Overview

As the Nurse Manager of our Mother-Baby Care Unit, you'll oversee all aspects of postpartum and newborn care while driving clinical excellence and patient satisfaction. This role combines clinical expertise with leadership skills to ensure exceptional care delivery and staff development.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary healthcare team in delivering high-quality maternal and newborn care
• Develop and implement women's health initiatives and quality improvement programs
• Manage departmental operations, including staffing, budgeting, and resource allocation
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and healthcare standards
• Foster collaborative relationships with physicians, staff, and interdepartmental teams
• Drive patient safety initiatives and maintain clinical excellence
• Oversee staff education and professional development programs
• Manage quality metrics and patient satisfaction initiatives

Required Qualifications

• Current Texas RN license or compact license
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
• 5 years recent acute care leadership experience in Mother-Baby Unit (or 2 years with supervisory experience)
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• NRP certification
• Strong clinical and operational leadership abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration
• Additional certifications in maternal-child nursing
• Experience with quality improvement initiatives
