Job Summary: The Postdoctoral Fellow provides for an internship and continuation of scholarly activity and research after achieving the Ph.D. or other doctoral degree under the direction of a senior faculty member who serves as a mentor for the postdoctoral appointee.
Additional Department Summary: Conducts research with various faculty members on organic synthesis including air-free reactions and complexation with transition metals, single crystal growth, optical spectroscopy including UV-vis absorption, emission, and transient absorption spectroscopy.
Initial appointments are for one year, with renewal contingent upon demonstration of research productivity.Required Minimum Qualifications: Doctorate. Additional qualifications based on assignment.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. or other terminal degree in a field of research represented within the College.
Candidates will need to have completed their Ph.D. or have it completed by the start of employment. Familiarity with Office suite software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. in organic/inorganic/polymer chemistry within the past 5 years. Extensive experience in organic synthesis especially on coordination compounds and spectroscopic techniques. Strong publication records in high-impact peer-reviewed journals. Experience mentoring and training junior graduate students and undergraduate students. Familiarity with Origin software for data analysis and plotting.
