Description
Perform quality inspection of Motor Graders, Medium Wheel Loaders, Rotary Mixer, and DV components and machines. Emphasis is on assembly and paint process inspection. Apply Caterpillar engineering drawings, specifications, and standards to judge conformance of NLR products.
Required Skills/Abilities: - At least one year of experience is required in one of the following areas: Quality Inspection, Welding and Fabrication, Machining, Assembly, Paint, or Logistics.
- Ability to handle frequent interruptions.
- Ability to maintain close attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to serve as a liaison with operations supervisors, team leads, technicians, assemblers, and/or fabrications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Some experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Power Point, Outlook, Excel, Teams) or related software.
- Ability to work independently and organize time effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Work requires sitting, standing, and/or walking for periods of five hours or more, moving and examining objects at high and low reach, and reading for periods of three hours or more.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at a time
- Documentation skills
- Blueprint reading
- Must be able to climb up and down stands frequently
- Must be able to perform checks with torque tools
Top Candidates will also have - Additional work experience, particularly in a manufacturing quality role, is highly desirable.
- Experience reading engineering drawings and Cat 1E specifications is highly desirable. Understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerance is also desirable.
- Computer literacy with proficiency in SAP-ME, AQE, and Microsoft Excel is highly desirable. Ability to use Teamcenter software to open and view CAD models of Prime Product assemblies is highly desirable. Experience using online Caterpillar drawings (in EPIX or PRWB) and 1E Specifications (in REDI) also highly desirable.
- Experience in use of manual measurement devices (calipers, gauges, micrometers) highly desirable.
- Understanding and experience with the root cause and corrective action (RCCA) or 8D issue resolution process is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills and a demonstrated ability to build positive working relationships with coworkers and customers.
Additional Information
Shift: 1st- Full Time
Hours: 1st shift - M-F, 7am - 3pm, Overtime may be required
Starting pay rate: $20.50
Work location: North Little Rock, AR
