Job Description

Position Overview: Forbes Advisor is seeking a Senior Staff Writer to join our dynamic banking team. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, have a strong understanding of the banking industry, and be passionate about delivering accurate and engaging content to our readers. This role primarily involves updating articles with the latest numbers and rates on banking products, optimizing content for SEO, and managing content assignments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Content Updates: Perform minor updates to articles, including updating numbers and rates on banking products to ensure accuracy and relevancy.
• SEO Optimization: Optimize articles for search engines to improve visibility and drive organic traffic.
• Assignment Management: Send out assignments to freelance writers and ensure timely submission.
• Research: Conduct thorough research on bank bonuses, promotions, and other relevant banking offers to keep our content current and comprehensive.
• Fact-Checking: Verify the accuracy of information in articles, ensuring all facts and data points are correct.
• First-Edits: Conduct initial edits on articles, ensuring they meet Forbes Advisor’s quality standards and editorial guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an editorial role, preferably within the finance or banking sector.
• Strong understanding of SEO best practices and experience with SEO tools.
• Excellent research, writing, and editing skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Preferred

Qualifications

• Experience working with freelance writers.
• Knowledge of the latest trends and developments in the banking industry.
• Familiarity with Airtable and Google Sheets
• Proficiency with WordPress and knowledge of basic HTML.
