Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a **Principal DevOps Engineer.** This positions will be located in **Roy, Utah or Huntsville, Alabama** **.** Supporting the Sentinel program. **What you get to do** - Assist with the design of, as well as configure and maintain, infrastructure and/or cloud resources necessary to reliably host, run, and support applications through all phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC). - Create and maintain continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. - Write scripts and configurations to automate software testing, deployment, and maintenance in a manner consistent with software engineering best practices Proactively monitor build and deployment pipelines and infrastructure, apply patches, troubleshoot issues, and resolve errors. - Automate infrastructure and/or cloud resource deployments and configuration using infrastructure-as-code tools. - Remediate findings from vulnerability scanning and penetration testing. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package. **Basic Qualifications:** - Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of relevant experience; 3 Years with Masters; 1 Year with PhD; or 4 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree. - Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance. - Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company to meet its business need - Experience with build tools (i.e., Maven, Ant, GNU make) and/or continuous integration environments (i.e., Jenkins, GitLab, Bamboo) and/or repositories (i.e. Nexus, JFROG). - IAT II certification (e.g. Security + CE) or ability to obtain within 6 months. - Proficiency with Linux based software development tools. - Experience with Microsoft and Linux Red Hat operating system. - Experience with scripting languages (i.e. PERL, Python, Bash, YAML). - Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. - Strong critical thinking and logical reasoning skills with the ability to solve issues. **Preferred Qualifications:** - Bachelor's degree in a STEM field of study. - Active DoD Secret clearance with a reinvestigation date occurring in the last 6 years. - Experience with automation/configuration management using either Ansible, Chef or equivalent. - Experience with source code configuration management tools (i.e git). - Experience with HashiCorp Packer and Vault. - Familiarity with container hardening and SBOM \#Sentinelsoftware Salary Range: $95,300.00 - $158,000.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
