Your role and responsibilities • This Robotics Field Service Engineer will work with our customers in the Midwest region (West Berlin, WI.) of the US supporting on-call emergency repairs of ABB Robotic system equipment in the field • Provide system integration support of ABB robots to designated build shops as well as the end users • Perform robot program changes such as logic, software and path alterations through either offline or online methodology • Provide robot specific or systems training in an informal environment to customers as required • Ability to communicate with customers (external and internal) in high pressure situations and maintain strong customer relationships, be proactive to support customer needs with a strong initiative in continued education during slow periods • Capable of traveling on short notice and handle rigors of air travel, thinking analytically, working autonomously, and making sound judgments • Communicate areas for additional Robotic and system opportunities to the appropriate ABB department
Qualifications for the role - HS/GED +5 years of mechanical, electrical, robotic, controls or engineering experience OR associate degree in a technical field +3 years of mechanical, electrical, robotic, controls or engineering experience OR Bachelor's Degree +1 year of mechanical, electrical, robotic, controls or engineering experience
- Mechanical aptitude for performing any mechanical component repair or replacement, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of PLC communications and other robotic peripheral equipment and the ability to read and understand Electrical drawings
- Computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Windows)
- Strong desire to travel (85%)
- Ability to communicate with customers (External & internal) in high pressure situations and maintain strong customer relationships
- Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
