Job Description
Purpose of Role:
Facilitate prepackaged inbound and outbound traffic through accurate and timely coordination via warehouse management systems.
Key Areas of Accountability for Shipping Clerk/Attendant:
Primary responsibilities include:
Responds to driver requests for assistance by troubleshooting and providing solutions
Performs only arrival office operations associated with inbound movements
Collaborates with warehouse supervisor on space availability and coordination
Acts as a liaison with the gatehouse attendant, drivers, and operators
Distributes daily loading and unloading packets to the warehouse inspector
Provides driver outbound documentation on weight specific shipments
Communicates driver concerns to the Traffic Coordinator/Planner
Handles all inbound and outbound documentation requests
Transmits all outbound documentation via warehouse management system
Acts as the primary support for the gatehouse attendant
Fulfills entire gatehouse attendant functions during coverage
Handles export container interchanges
Other duties as assigned

Skills – Knowledge:
Excellent communication and customer service skills, both written and verbal
Great attention to detail
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Outlook with the aptitude to quickly learn and understand additional applications
Willingness to adapt and take charge in an evolving environment
Ability to maintain an elevated level of organization and prioritization
Strong phone etiquette and active listening skills
Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations.
Proven ability to work well within a team and promote strong working relationships meanwhile, maintaining professional attitude and positive outlook
Capacity to produce a large quantity of error free work in a timely fashion
