The Emerging Technologies team specializes in building forward-looking, very scalable platforms. The team has a passion for solving ambitious problems, exploring new domains, and engineering ground-breaking solutions.
In this role, you will work with a hardworking team to implement security solutions of Apple that safeguard critically meaningful services and systems from security threats. It is an extraordinary solution that offers protection in various network layers, web application firewall (WAF), authentication offloading, traffic management services, and more. It provides increased availability, fault-tolerance, and access control to Apple’s internal and external application and services.

As Site Reliability and SecOps Engineer, you will work closely with multi-functional teams, automate operations, optimize infrastructure, implement security and solve issues in an exciting, fast-paced environment. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring that our systems are reliable, scalable, and high-performing.

Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, Security, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Strong foundation in programming language (Java) or scripting (Python / Bash / LUA)
- Proficient in Linux, Networking concepts (TLS/SSL, DNS, Load Balancers, etc.)
- Experience in troubleshooting in large scale environments
- Skilled in cloud technologies such as AWS or GCP, container technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes
- Hands on experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Splunk, Grafana, CloudWatch)
- Hands on experience in one or more databases (Relational / NoSQL like Oracle, MongoDB)

- Strong Network, Load Balancing (Nginx, Envoy, NetScaler) experience is a huge plus
- Experience in heuristic data analysis and pattern detection
- Experience in security standards, policies, and cryptography
- Experience with Incident / Problem management and RCA
- Good understanding of Storage, Secrets, Deployment tools, Containers etc.
- Knowledge of privacy, compliance and security best practices
- Source control management such as Git / Understanding of CI/CD, Release Engineering and DevOps

- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
