Job Description:
Position: Site Reliability Engineer
Duration: 12+ months (possible extension)
Location: Austin TX (Hybrid)
Pay rate: To be discussed
Shift: Day shift (8am-5pm)
Description Of Position:
Interviews: 2 Virtual interviews. Depending on the candidate's overall team impression, a 3rd virtual interview may be scheduled.

o Ability to clearly understand, debug, and communicate complex problems with users
o Scripting (bash, python, or other scripting language)
o Experience with multiple Oses (ubuntu ? RHEL ? windows being the most important)
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Infrastructure Engineer to join our team and ensure the reliability and seamless operation of our on-premises MAAS (Metal-as-a-Service) instances across multiple geographic locations. This role is critical in supporting internal and customer-facing operations, building OS templates, and collaborating with diverse teams to maintain high service availability.
Key Responsibilities:
1. MAAS Infrastructure Reliability:
o Ensure the stability and reliability of MAAS deployments across multiple on-premises data centers globally.
o Monitor, diagnose, and resolve issues affecting MAAS instances to maintain uptime and performance.
2. OS Template Development:
o Use Python and Bash scripting to design and create automated workflows for building and maintaining OS templates.
o Maintain a repository of reusable and standardized OS images tailored to customer and operational requirements.
3. Customer Collaboration and Support:
o Work directly with customer teams to troubleshoot and debug MAAS-related issues.
o Provide expert guidance and solutions to ensure MAAS services are operating effectively for customer environments.
4. Automation and Optimization:
o Develop scripts and tools to automate repetitive tasks, improving the efficiency of MAAS deployment and maintenance workflows.
o Continuously optimize system performance through proactive monitoring and updates.
5. Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:
o Document processes, troubleshooting steps, and best practices for MAAS infrastructure and OS template creation.
o Share knowledge with internal teams to promote skill growth and operational consistency.
Requirements:
Technical Skills:
o Proficiency in Python and Bash scripting for automation and system management.
o Familiarity with OS image creation, deployment processes, and customization for various Linux distributions.
Problem-Solving Abilities:
o Proven troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve complex issues in distributed systems.
o Ability to collaborate effectively with customers and internal teams under tight timelines.
Communication and Collaboration:
o Excellent communication skills for engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
o Team-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality support and solutions.
Preferred Qualifications:
o Experience working with large-scale, multi-geographic infrastructures.
o Familiarity with other infrastructure management tools or technologies.
o Experience with MAAS and its deployment/management in on-premises environments.
Experience:
o 1-10 years of experience required
Education:
o Bachelor's degree or higher in relevant software or engineering field required
