We are looking for a licensed or certified individual to serve as our next Substance Use Specialist on our Assertive Community Treatment team. They are responsible for providing specialized services for the treatment of co-occurring substance use and mental illness to individuals enrolled in the ACT TAY Program. This individual will conduct comprehensive substance use assessments, assess and track consumers state of change readiness and stages of treatment. CHN team members enjoy a collaborative team environment, and competitive benefits, including additional performance incentives up to $12,000 annually.
This is primarily a Monday-Friday position, but this candidate will also need to have some evening and weekend availability. On call availability is also required.
Other responsibilities of the substance use specialist:
* Utilize outreach and motivational interviewing techniques
* Use cognitive behavioral approaches and relapse prevention
* Provide individual co-occurring counseling; Arranging and providing educational and process groups co-occurring counseling
* Prepare and/or participate in development of individualized wellness plans and wellness plan reviews
* Involves High percentage of consumer contact involve specialty related activities related to substance use or co-occurring treatment concerns
* Responsible for appropriate documentation and recording within the case record according to policy
* Participate in ongoing clinical supervision
* Participate in regular team meetings, including the following functions WITHIN the team: Modeling skills and consultation; Cross training other staff and help them develop dual disorder assessment and treatment skills; Attend daily organization team meetings; and attending all treatment planning meetings for consumers with a dual disorder.
* Bachelor's degree required
* Master's degree preferred
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Current substance abuse counselor certification (CADC, CRADC, CRASDC or CCDP) and/or current licensure (PLPC, LPC, LMSW or LCSW); or currently pursuing required
