The Department of Government and Justice Studies at Appalachian State University invites applications for a Teaching Assistant Professor position in Political Science beginning August 2025 for a one-year contract. The individual hired in this position will teach Introduction to American Politics and National Government and upper-division undergraduate courses based on their area of expertise and program needs. The areas of specialization are open.

Description of the Department or Unit
The Department of Government and Justice Studies (GJS) is home to over 800 undergraduate majors and over 70 graduate students. They study with 35 full-time tenure-track faculty who are at the forefront of their diverse areas of expertise and are amongst the most honored teachers at Appalachian State University.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The teaching load is 3 courses per semester.
