Job Summary

• Reporting to the Nursing Supervisor, Home Care, the triage nurse acts as a resource to the staff on the nursing team. This includes responding to telephone calls from staff relating to clinical/scheduling issues, as well as being an information conduit between nurses and physicians and other clinicians. The triage nurse is responsible for the nursing schedule and coordinating schedules with other disciplines. He/she works closely with the Intake Office to insure the smooth functioning of the intake, acceptance and scheduling process.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, or the equivalent in experience

Experience

• Minimum of one year experience as a Home Health nurse

Licensure and/or Certification

• Current license to practice as a registered professional nurse in Massachusetts

Skills

• Current knowledge of home care nursing practices
• Ability to respond to rapid changes in patient scheduling.
• Ability to work effectively as team member
• Excellent customer service skills relating to physicians, clinicians, patients and families
• Excellent organizational and prioritizing skills.
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Must have the ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Ability to maintain confidential information.
