About the Company

We are a fast-growing SaaS company specializing in SMS solutions designed for marketing professionals. Since our founding in 2008, we've built a robust product portfolio and serve a diverse range of industries, including Higher Education, Sports, SaaS, and Financial Services. As we continue to expand, we're looking for an innovative and strategic Vice President of Marketing to lead our marketing initiatives and drive sustainable growth.

About the Role

As VP of Marketing, you will play a key role in shaping and executing a comprehensive, data-driven marketing strategy. Reporting directly to the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) and working closely with the executive team, you will oversee multi-channel marketing efforts, including website optimization, SEO, PPC, ABM (Account-Based Marketing), events, social media, and more.

You'll lead a team of in-house marketers, agencies, and contractors, ensuring that marketing efforts are optimized for performance and aligned with business objectives. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, results-driven leader with a strong entrepreneurial mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to drive alignment across key stakeholders.

What You'll Do

Marketing Strategy & Execution

Develop and implement a comprehensive, multi-channel marketing strategy to drive growth.
Lead Account-Based Marketing (ABM) efforts to engage key verticals, including Higher Ed, Sports, SaaS, and Financial Services.
Translate market insights and data analytics into actionable plans that optimize marketing spend and maximize ROI.

Marketing Operations & Budget Management

Oversee SEO, PPC, website optimization, social media, content marketing, and email campaigns to ensure best-in-class execution.
Partner with digital marketing agencies to refine website performance, landing pages, and campaign effectiveness.
Manage the marketing budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation and strong ROI across all channels.

Leadership & Team Management

Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing marketing team, including in-house staff, agencies, and freelancers.
Foster collaboration across executive leadership, sales, and product teams to align marketing strategies with business goals.
Cultivate a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Data-Driven Decision Making

Utilize marketing analytics and technology to monitor campaign performance and extract actionable insights.
Adjust strategies based on data-driven insights to optimize marketing spend and effectiveness.
Implement A/B testing strategies for message testing and landing page optimization.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Brand Leadership
Work closely with the CMO, sales, revenue operations, and product teams to align marketing efforts with go-to-market strategies.
Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and webinars to build brand credibility and foster partnerships.
Communicate marketing performance and strategy effectively to executive leadership and key stakeholders.

What We're Looking For

Experience & Skills

8+ years in marketing leadership roles within SaaS or technology companies, with a strong track record of scaling marketing efforts.
Proven success in developing and executing multi-channel marketing strategies and ABM campaigns.
Experience managing in-house teams, agencies, contractors, and freelancers.
Deep understanding of SEO, PPC, email marketing, social media, digital advertising, and content marketing.
Strong experience with marketing tools such as Apollo, HubSpot, and Salesforce (SMS marketing experience is a plus).

Leadership & Strategic Mindset

Entrepreneurial, self-motivated, and action-oriented with a bias for driving results.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence across all levels of an organization.
Experience managing budgets efficiently and demonstrating strong ROI on marketing investments.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $150,000 - $180,000 per year + stock options.
Remote-first company with an office in Austin, TX (no requirement to be in-office).
